The expert team of physicians at Heel Pain Center of Atlanta have over 100 years of combined experience and maintain the highest levels of accreditation. This specialty center is located within the offices of American Foot & Leg Specialists located south of the metro Atlanta area in Stockbridge, Forrest Park, Fayetteville and Locust Grove.

Dr. Paul Colon

Paul Colon DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Colon Dr. Paul Colon began his medical education at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating in 1970 to pursue a residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at St. Luke’s Children Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From there, Dr. Colon continued his post graduate training by taking part in the 28th AD/ASIF course on the “Theoretical Basis and Practical Principles of the Operative Treatment of Fractures and Nonunion” in Davos, Switzerland.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Colon has had a held a number of teaching positions in addition to practicing medicine. He has taught at the California School of Podiatric Medicine, The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, as well as Hadassah Hospital and Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel as a teaching fellow. Dr. Colon has also held the position of President of both the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association and Region 10 for the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Colon is Board Certified in Podiatry, a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons. Dr. Colon is currently connected with Piedmont Henry Hospital and Atlanta Medical Center- South Campus.

Dr. Praya Mam

Praya Mam DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Praya Mam Board Certified in podiatry, Dr. Praya Mam is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery as well as a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Additionally, Dr. Mam is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and serves on the Continued Medical Education Board at the Henry Medical Center.

Dr. Mam began his education with a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida before receiving his medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Mam’s post graduate training included a medical and surgical residency at Cleveland Foot and Ankle Clinic and Meridia Huron Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Mam is currently connected with Piedmont Henry Hospital and Atlanta Medical Center- South Campus. He is also fluent in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Jeffrey P. Flash

Jeffrey P. Flash, DPM, FACFAS.

Dr. Jeffrey P. Flash Graduating from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Jeffrey Flash received his residency training at University of Miami serving as the Chief Resident of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. While in his residency, Dr. Flash worked at a number of the top medical centers in Miami in addition to Mount Sinai Medical, including the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Ambulatory Surgical Center at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

In addition to being a Fellow at the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Dr. Flash is an associate member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association. As a testament to his distinction in the field of podiatry, Dr. Flash has won the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Earl G. Kaplan Award for Academic and Clinical Excellence; the Wally Wiseman Surgical Excellence Award; and the Dr. Marvin W. Shapiro Operative Podiatry Award.

Dr. Rodney Gadson

Rodney Gadson, DPM, CWS

Dr. Rodney Gadson Like his associates at American Foot and Leg Specialists, Dr. Rodney Gadson is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. However, Dr. Gadson is also a Certified Wound Specialist. Dr. Gadson graduated medical school from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency training at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center.

Dr. Gadson is a Diplomate of the American Council of Certified Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons and the American Academy of Wound Management as well as a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Running and Fitness Association. Dr. Gadson is currently connected with Atlanta Medical Center- South Campus.

Dr. Marieli A . Colon

Marieli A. Colon, DPM

Dr. Marieli A . Colon Dr. Marieli Colon graduated with honors from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Pre-medical Sciences. Dr. Colon earned her medical degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. She completed her residency training in podiatric medicine and surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Colon is part a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association as well as the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry and Board Certified in Primary Care in Podiatric Medicine

Dr. Colon is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Loren Colon

Loren K. Colon, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Loren Colon Graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s of Science in Movement Science , Dr. Loren Colon then graduated from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida where he was granted a merit scholarship for his academic excellence. Next, Dr. Colon completed his three year podiatric medical and surgical residency training at the VA Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia, learning from and working alongside Emory University physicians.

Dr. Loren Colon is board certified in Podiatric Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Colon is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry in both Podiatric Surgery and Primary Care. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association. He has been named a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS), joining an elite group of physicians. Additionally, as a member of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, Dr. Colon volunteers his time with various local sports teams.

Dr. Loren Colon has been instrumental in developing  Heel Pain Center of Atlanta. The purpose of the center is to provide his patients, and those of American Foot & Leg Specialists, the most progressive treatments for resolving their heel pain.
